31 Days of Holiday Self-Care, Day 27, Pick Out Your Top Ten Favorite Photos from the Past Year

December 27, 2016

I  feel very happy right now because the second year I’ve completed today’s self-care challenge: pick out your top ten favorite photos from the year.  After all, Christmas is over and a bright and shiny new year is right around the corner. This week is a gift week, some down time to get mentally ready for a great new year. What better way to start that process than to reflect on the high points of the previous year?

In this age of Facebook and Instagram and smartphones, we’ve all got a ton of photos that we never, ever look at. Why not take some time to go through all your photos of this year and pick out the 10 that best sum up your year?

I’ve done this now for both 2015 and 2016 and both times, I’ve had a wonderful walk through the past year. I set myself a challenge that I couldn’t pick more than one photo per month and I was surprised by how hard it was to just pick one great thing each month. It seems all too often that my life is just day after day of the same old thing but when I look at the year as a whole, it’s clear that norm for me is actually that there is something pretty exciting just around the corner.

Here’s my 2016 and 2015 and I’d love to see yours! Post it in the comments or on the Midlife Rambler Facebook page or on Instagram with the hashtag #topten2016. I can’t wait to see them! We’ll keep this going for a while. And don’t worry – tomorrow is super easy and takes no work on your part.

Best of 2016

Note: I know this is only 8. I could not get the last 2 to upload and I’m finally just giving up. I’ll share them all on Instagram.

Best of 2015
