Weekend Reading: It’s Fall Y’all

Weekend Reading

I’ve been pretending that it’s fall for a while now on the blog, but now the calendar finally agrees with me. Let’s celebrate! What’s the best way to commemorate the turn of the season?

Well, kayaking 7 miles in an 817-pound pumpkin looks pretty fun, although I’d argue that the fellow who wrote the headline “Easton pumpkin rider stayed the gourds and squashed record in Taunton“ had the most fun of all.

Or maybe I’ll just celebrate my newly empty nest. Might find some inspiration from these parents who seem to be nailing empty nest syndrome.

Of course, fall travel is always fun and this straw festival in Japan looks like a pretty cool way to celebrate.

Fall is a good time to refocus on your career. Maybe we should all work on building our professional network on Linked In.  And, remember folks, Linked In is for professional networking. It’s not a dating site.

And if your part of the country doesn’t have pretty leaves falling to the ground yet (mine doesn’t), you can anticipate that part of fall still to come and honor the Pope’s visit to the U.S. at the same time by remembering that even the Pope must battle the wind (hint: it’s a slideshow, use the right and left arrow arrow keys to move though it).

What’s cuter than the Pope with his mantle over his face though?Cats. Here’s how all your favorite cats are spending autumn. Enjoy.

    Hi,
I am an empty nester too. I also like photography; I saw you with your camera. I have many articles about tools that can help with headline writing. Thank you for coming to my site on Friday and commenting on my post about engaging blog readers who are in a rush. Nice to meet you.

Hi Janice – nice to meet you! I’ll definitely be back to your blog to check out your articles. I’m very much an amateur photographer but I enjoy it a lot. Nice to have a bit more time now that the kids are grown.
