31 Days of Holiday Self-Care, Day 26, Take a Nap

Whew! It’s over. Kinda, right? Do you still have family in town? Do you have a long drive or plane ride in your future? Do you have tons of cleaning that you have to do now to replace the tons of cleaning that you did right before Christmas? That’s the situation I’m in at the moment.

At least I imagine that’s what I’m dealing with. I’m writing this before the holidays, but I can just guess that at this exact moment, I’m looking at a sink full of dishes. I’m going to deal with them, of course, because if I don’t they’ll just be that much grosser and harder to deal with in the future, but then I’m going to run upstairs to my bedroom in the middle of the day with the latest book I’m reading or even a lightweight magazine and read until I feel my eyelids getting heavy. Since I’m tingling with anticipation even now while I’m writing this, a full two days before Christmas, I’m guessing I will not need to read for any longer than five minutes before I feel a pleasant sleepiness coming on.

This is turning into nap porn and I’m ok with that. In fact, I want you to nap with me. We’ll have a great nap together like Ross and Joey from Friends. And tomorrow we’ll turn our attention to 2017.
